🎛️ DSM Global Settings Overview

These settings allow you to customize your Dance Studio Manager (DSM) system. Let’s go through each section so you can get your studio set up just the way you like.

🔹 Common Settings

  • Name – Your studio name (appears in the upper-left corner of DSM)

  • Address, City, State, Phone

  • Website – Format: http://www.yourstudio.com

  • Email (for info) – The email clients will see for general inquiries

đź“… Calendar Settings

Most of these relate to the Calendar section in the Admin Menu.

Class Display Options:

  • Show Class Name – Genre/Name (from Settings > Categories)

  • Show Class Level / Program / Location – Also edited in Settings > Categories

  • Show Current/Max Students

  • Show Instructor Name

  • Show Class Code – Useful for quick reference (recommended: set to Yes)

Layout & Functionality:

  • One Calendar per Studio – Useful for multi-location studios

  • Calendar Starts on Monday – Optional (default is Sunday)

  • Calendar Start/End Time – For example, start at 12 PM if no morning classes

  • Default Calendar View – Choose from Daily, Weekly, Monthly (based on studio size)

  • Day Columns – Break down by room or instructor (in Day view)

  • Allow Reschedule – Enable moving a class to another time/day

  • Allow Reschedule for Instructors – Same as above, but for teachers

  • Instructors Can Edit Own Schedules – Toggle teacher control

🧾 Class Registration Settings

  • Check Age – Prevents registration outside age limits

  • Allow Student’s Age as Decimal – Useful for close age eligibility

  • Days Before Birthday – Set how early a student can enroll before they reach the minimum age

  • Check Gender – For gender-specific classes

  • Check if Class is Full – Allow override to enroll past capacity (use with caution)

  • Add Charge on Class Registration – Automatically add a charge when registering

  • Default Charge Category – Helps categorize charges (e.g., “Online Registration”)

⚙️ System Mode & Formatting

  • DSM Mode:

    • Family Mode – Parents/Guardians don’t take lessons

    • Combined Mode – Parents/Guardians and kids can enroll

    • Adult Mode – Removes “Families” menu, shows only “Students”

  • Date, Time, and Phone Formats – Set based on your location

  • Phone Labels – Customize (e.g., “Guardian Work,” “Landline”)

  • Rows per Page – For viewing lists like families or classes

  • Currency Sign

  • Default Class Length – Default time when adding a class (editable later)

  • Enable Account Login for Online Client – Disable if you don’t use online registration

  • Add Instructors as Students in Class – Allows enrolling instructors as students

  • Enable Family/Member Accounts for Instructors – If instructors are also members/students

  • Purchase Module Enabled – For selling items under each family account

  • Private Lesson Enabled – Adds a “Schedule Private Lesson” button on calendar

📆 Season & Enrollment

  • Current Season – Important for organizing and filtering schedules

  • Ledger – All Seasons by Default – Toggle to only show current season

  • Lock in Current Season for Class List & Related Students/Classes – Keeps view current

Couple Enrollment (For Partner Dances)

  • Enroll Couple Together

  • Allow Group Class Couple Registration

📸 Member & Class List Display

  • Allow Upload Member’s Photo

  • Max Photo Width (px)

  • Use Big Photo for Members List

  • Show Balance in Members List

  • Show ID in Class List

  • Show Student Registration Date

  • Show Guardian 2 in Members List

  • Show Children in Members List

👩‍🏫 Instructor & Attendance

  • Enable Instructor 2 & 3 – For classes with multiple teachers

  • Attendance Status “Late” – Adds “Late” status in attendance tracking

  • Default Ledger Sort Order – Most studios prefer Newest to Oldest

  • Show Today’s Classes on Dashboard – Instead of showing recently finished
